HANOR Farms — Downtime Calculator

• A night is considered 12 hours.
• All visitors need approval from a Hanor manager and a completed visitor biosecurity authorization form before visiting a farm.
• Anyone visiting a Hanor breeding farm must give the farm manager and production manager at least 12 hours' notice.
• Do not bring any uncooked or raw pork products onto a farm or farm premise.
• Pig contact includes: non-Hanor pig farm, pig processing plant, cull buying station, diagnostic laboratory, livestock fairs and shows, zoos, trade shows (e.g. World Pork Expo), and wild boar hunting.
• If you had contact with other livestock (cattle, horses, poultry) the same day: wear shoe covers on the farm premise; for a breeding herd, arrive in clothes that have not contacted those animals; for grow-finish, do not wear barn clothes/shoes that contacted other livestock. Follow farm entry procedures.
• Best practice when visiting more than one farm in a day: visit the healthiest farms first, then youngest pigs before older pigs. Healthiest farms are always visited first.
• Visitors and Hanor staff visiting another farm should wear shoe covers over personal shoes on farm premises and in offices.
• Hold production meetings that commingle staff from multiple farms at the end of the workday so overnight downtime is possible. Avoid going to a regional production office the same day after visiting a PRRS or PED/Delta positive farm, especially for sow-farm regions.
• Avoid going from one regional production office to another the same day (Iowa offices are within the Iowa region).
• When going to a location shared by multiple regions/farms of different health status (e.g. Enid, North Carolina offices), wash the vehicle before arriving or park in the designated dirty-vehicle area.
• When travelling from one region to another, contact a veterinarian or the regional manager for farm-specific downtime guidance.
• If you've travelled internationally, contact your supervisor for downtime requirements (see the International arrival tab).
• Pig waste/manure: if you contacted pig waste/manure (or contaminated equipment) from a farm, the downtime rules are the same as if you entered that farm. Avoid the farm entrance and perimeter buffer (ring road) — even at the same farm — and keep contaminated vehicles away from where farm staff park and walk.
• Iowa region: contract growers may house non-Hanor pigs where overnight downtime is not possible — make every effort to avoid same-day contact with non-Hanor pigs or premises. Avoid visiting a finisher before a nursery, and avoid the feed mill the same day as a farm.

Wisconsin / Illinois / Missouri

• Whitehall, IL: Do not bring any pork products (cooked or uncooked) into Main Farm.
• Whitehall, IL: Try to avoid visiting a finisher farm before visiting a nursery farm.
• Whitehall, IL: After visiting the mortality disposal area, observe overnight downtime before entering a nursery or finisher.
• Whitehall, IL: After visiting the feed mill, observe overnight downtime before entering a farm.
• Spring Green Production Office: Office visit before farm visit (visit the office before the farm).
• Whitehall Production Office: No downtime value specified in the chart — confirm with your manager.
• Spring Green Feed Mill: Feed mill or farm may be visited first in the day. Dedicated feed truck for Main Farm; dedicated truck for the other 500s and Lucky / Scenic / all other 500s.
• Spring Green Truck Wash: Visit the farm before the truck wash.

North Carolina

• NC: Maintenance, transport and waste-management staff may have same-day contact with the transfer station, truck wash and waste-management areas — pay special attention to footwear; use decontamination or disposable shoe covers.
• NC: If you have had contact with pig waste/manure or equipment, avoid the farm entrance and the perimeter buffer (ring road) area.
• NC: Farm staff visiting the truck wash, maintenance shop or other commingling area should go at the end of the day and observe overnight downtime before entering a farm.
• NC: Wear shoe covers over personal shoes. Staff picking up semen should wear shoe covers at the pick-up area.
• NC Production Office: When possible, observe one night down before going to the NC Production Office after visiting a farm that is PRRS or PED/Delta positive. Avoid going from one regional production office to another the same day. Avoid returning to the office the same day after a meeting with people who had pig contact.
• Brasswell Feed Mill: Observe 2 nights down before the mill after visiting a PRRS or PED/Delta positive farm. Observe one night down from any other Hanor farm. Avoid the mill the same day after a meeting with people who had pig contact.

Oklahoma

• OK: Hanor employees must comply with the downtime chart.
• OK: It may be necessary for the Enid Mechanic and/or OK Transport Manager to have same-day contact with the Enid Feed Mill or the Roberts Ranch truck wash — cleaning and disinfection or a change of clothing and footwear is required.
• OK co-habitation (Roberts Ranch Mooreland): 3 permitted co-habitation groupings — Transfer Nursery, Roberts Ranch region, Huffman region. Downtime where Negative means Immune (NOT naïve): POS→NEG = 1, NEG→POS = 1, RR→Huffman = 1, Huffman→RR = 1.
